Usually, we like to see your baby within the first week after discharge. This visit is crucial to check for jaundice, ensure feeding is going well, and answer any “new parent” questions you might have.
If your child is active and drinking fluids, you can often monitor them. However, if the fever is very high, if they are lethargic, or if it lasts more than 48 hours, it’s time to see us. For infants under 3 months, any fever is an automatic reason to call the doctor.
